ABOUT DS AT CNM
Digital Storytelling is composed of two courses in which you will learn the visual and technical aspects of digital storytelling as well as the literary techniques of creative writing.
Digital Storytelling & Visual Communication
The ENG 2096/ CIS 1325 Learning Community allows students to complete both courses in one semester while they develop the skills to tell their own digital stories. Digital stories are narratives that take full advantage of their digital environment, often combining graphics, film, sound, and text. Students will master the skills of analyzing the various building blocks of digital stories—visual design elements such as contrast, framing, use of color, and typography and narrative design elements such as point-of-view, conflict, characterization, and figurative language. Students will demonstrate these analytical skills by creating their own digital stories in this course.
